Funny stuff. Oh, and politics. But I repeat myself.

First Viewing of Robot Chicken

Posted by Minister of Information on Thursday, 17 January 2008

I don’t have Comedy Central or the Cartoon Network or whatever network on which “Robot Chicken” airs, so I have never seen an episode. I have seem some clips (see post below), but that’s it. Because I enjoyed the clips, I ordered the DVDs of the first season, the first of which arrived today (along with an documentary about the Iraq War and that whole bungled affair).

I just finished watching the first 11:00 minute episode. Fantastic! I loved “Two Kirks, a Khan, and a Pizza Place,” starring Admiral James T. Kirk, Kirk Cameron, and Khan Noonien Singh. The very last sketch, “Zombie Idol,” proved amusing as well. A child from the Make-A-Wish Foundation fell and cracked open his head, which sent the Zombies into a frenzy. Then appeared the bald African-American guy who was in one of the Zombie movies and in Quentin Tarantino’s movies “Pulp Fiction” (which definitely does NOT hold up since it came out) started attacking the Zombies (why am I capitalizing Zombie? I don’t know) with a shot gun.

Then, of course, a Zombie Kurt Cobain arrives on scene and takes the shotgun and puts it under his own chin….

This is so very, very wrong, and yet so very, very right. I laughed like Hell (which is where I’m probably headed for laughing at such a scene, so it seemed appropriate).

I am really impressed by this show. I wish I had seen it sooner!
