Gracious in Victory? [UPDATED]

In class today, I said very little about President-Elect Obama’s victory in yesterday’s election. I simply said that I hoped he would be able to deal with the massive challenges before him.

But this is not my class. This is Zalandriaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! And I shall not be gracious in victory.

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS DOMINATED BY FASCISTS OF THE EVANGELICAL RIGHT AND THEY HAVE DRIVEN THIS NATION RIGHT INTO THE GROUND!!! THEY HAVE DESTROYED THIS COUNTRY!!!

And last night was payback. The Republican Party has been smashed, and a fascist Governor Palin got her hat handed to her and was finally cashiered. I hope she fades into obscurity, which she deserves. She is a horrid woman. Absolutely horrid.

[UPDATE]: Turns out her little shopping spree was bigger than reported! [–END UPDATE–]

John McCain would have had a better chance if he (a) choose a better running-mate — and a better PERSON — and (b) ran as he did in 2000. He choose to veer to the far right and he suffered for it, as he should have.

Rep. John Lewis called yesterday’s election “a non-violent revolution,” and he was correct in that thought.

I am so thankful to be an American and a Democrat today — as I once was proud to be a Republican, until that party became a fascist party.
